another update

Hello everyone!  So as you know I have been in the hospital since Sunday, dealing with low pressure symptoms and all that jazz.  I ended up having a shunt revision and blood patch placement yesterday, immediately felt like a new woman!  I haven't had to take any pain meds since before surgery!  The NS put in a different valve, an adjustable one, set it really high and said that the meningocele will probably puff back out but then we will dial the valve down slowly so that I don't get sick.  I like this plan.  It is weird how I am more functional with high pressure but not low pressure...that slays me!  Then last night I had to have them page the docs cause I started having numbness and tingling in my extremities but they figured it was from the blood patch, they injected like 30 mls into my back!  So I am not sure what "fixed" me but I don't care either! I am just so happy to be feeling better!  And the doc just came in right now to tell me I can go home now! woot woot! Unfortunatly, I am going to a house with sick children, worn out hubby and a brand new puppy...hmm maybe I will go to my mom's house.

LOL Angie...mom's sounds like a great idea...and they are so helpful for recovery!!

I had 30 secs of extremely low blood pressure with 2 of my 3 csections (caused by the spinal tap) it was so horrible I thought I was going to die right there. If that is anything like having low spinal pressure than I feel so very sorry for you...
I'm am very glad to hear that you are feeling so great, now just take some time to recover... I wish you all the best!

I pray u continue to heal and ur family as well gets better to welcome u home : )

I agree go to mom's for a bit and when u and the family r better, then go home.
