update on appt

well went to ns today. had head mri and csf flow study this morning then appt with ns. apparently my csf flow is good. tho he didnt show me the proof. then continued to tell e that the pressure and ringing in my ears is not due to chiari and that i need to see a ent for that. he doesnt deal with that. hmmm, i know it has something to do with my chiari. tho they did give me another month off of work. im not so sure i got any answers today. like why i am still having symptoms. that there is no cure. am i gonna have the symptoms i am having now forever? i was not satisfied with my visit. i go back in 6 months for another ri. i feel the chiari run around by my trusting sergeon. whats new. he didnt bother to discuss my current symptoms nor issues. just that my csf flow looks good, see ya in 6 months. hmmmmm

I know how flustraing it is to go to the doctor and not get the answer's that you are looking for.  You want them to tell you that you will be better today.  Unfortunely it doesn't work this way.  I alway's keep Selma's reasurrance that 2yr ann is better than the first.  Take one day at a time and also get a lot of rest.  Take advantage of this month the doctor gave you.  The more you rest the faster you will heal.

Part of ur issues could be that u have been doing too much too soon....try to rest and see if things get better....

As I said b4 we all heal at diff rates and it could just be that u were too active too soon doing things that for just having surgery  may have caused u to have more pain.

I have also told the members here that from 1 yr post op till 2 yrs post op what a diff I saw ...so there is time for more benefits and improvement and u r only in the early stages.

Sorry u didn't get more answers, and I agree with Mazie- request copies of the reports.

Honestly hun, you should call and talk to him about your unanswered questions.   If you call his office and talk to his secretary and tell her you forgot to ask or discuss something with him, and ask to have him return your call..he will! I always seem to forget to ask him something, or think of something later and I just call and they give him a msg..and he returns my call personally usually that night or the next day. From all your posts its hard to imagine we see the same ns! I dont want to have all complications/pain/problems post op like your currently experiencing. Scary!
hope you get some answers soon.

All you have to do is call and get a copy of the report that the radiologist makes. They gladly fax or will mail if u ask. I have copies of reports and mris from there. Although i really dont think he would lie about the flow. The ns u describe doesnt sound at all like the same one i see every six months though. Totally opposite...im not sure why..ive heard nothing but great things..thus confusing.
