Chiari Doctors

Hi everyone...

I am trying to get into a GOOD Chiari Specialist ASAP, but am having some difficulty.  I am waiting to hear back from Dr. Oro in Colorado, but I know it will be end of January before I can get in.  I want to see a specialist that has LOTS of experience with doing the surgery, should that be what I need.  Can anyone recommend doctors that they have seen and really liked?  I don't care where they are located as long as they are good.  I am located in Texas, but will go wherever is needed and see whomever (as long as they are good) if they can see me before Christmas.  I hope to see Dr. Oro, but I am MISERABLE and so I am still hoping to see a doctor sooner if possible.  I have seen the websites with the names of lots of docs, but I would like to hear success stories from people who have seen some of these doctors.  Thanks.

Well look at me, I think Dr Hampf needs to start paying me a finders fee :D

He really is a great chiari surgeon. He's performed hundreds. He makes you feel comfortable about the procedure and doesn't ignore what you tell him, like so many other surgeons do.

And yes, go read Dr. Oro's poem on selma's site. It's great.

It is true u will need a chiari expert for ur dr, but in the meantime, find a good pain management group to assist u with ur pain.Dr. Oro is very well known in the Chiari world.....trust that if u need intervention sooner, he will take measures to get u as comfortable as quickly as possible. If u would like...go to my profile pg and read the poem that Dr Oro wrote...u will see he does understand this condition.

Good luck
Godspeed

Well, my Doctor is Dr. Carl Hampf in Nashville Tennessee. I'm quite happy with him and I believe lovemygirls here is also happy having just had her surgery 2 weeks or so ago.

You might be able to have an appointment with him before Christmas, but I'm sure you'll have to wait for the holidays to pass before you can really expect surgery.

I've also heard great things about Dr. John Oro in Colorado.
