It just takes time until u build strength and stamina back up and as the nerves regenerate or wake up or what ever they r doing it will continue to affect u....and it can take the nerves up to 2 yrs to heal completely.....
This is a post op issue for me too.strange no???!!!
I too have this issue, especially after walkin or standing for half hour or more. They get all shaky and weak and do not wanna move. Dont know why. I noticed this more months after surgery?!
HI sweetie.....I understand that frustration....most days...I don't get a chance to sit very much...and by 8pm when I sit down./...if I try to stand back up...I have to have assistance. I also have disc issues and sciatic nerve compression...so it could be chiari also. Just wanted to let you know I deal with it also....and you aren't alone. SO glad that you sister sees improvement...Yeah....I am sure that it is hard to see improvement when you still feel bad ((hugs))
Thanks selma really...its calming me down.i really have the same.doing too much is definetly triggering those situations.but my sister told me she sees so much improvement since surgery ;))
There r a few things this could be, a disk that is bulging, TC, EDS, and yes, it could be chiari.....
It can also happen when u may be over doing things...I recall when I was working pre op and at the end of the day I could barely move my legs to walk to my car. I do have EDS and TC and a bulging disk in addition to my chiari, and I still get this post op if I am on my legs too much, seems no matter how I try to build up my stamina, my legs do not want to go past a certain point, and then they swell like water balloons.....
I will also add I have used a cane since 2000, long b4 I was dx'd. and I can walk better and further now with out it, at 3 yrs post op...so I see improvements....but it can take time.
