does anybody know anything about CL or C REACTIVE PROTEIN?

I got blood work back today and my CL is raised as well as my C REACTIVE PROTEIN anybody know anything about these?

I see many drs at hopkins but the main few are Dr. Rigamonti (NS For Hydrocephalus) Dr. Moghkar (NL) Dr. Guyton (ophthalmologist) my nl, Dr. Gordon(plastic surgeon), Dr. Moghkar is at bayview, all of the nl are but they still work with a team at the main hospital.
and oh my goodness that is crazy! praying for you!!!

Hey Molly....

Who is your team at JH?  I understand if you don't want to post it but if you don't can you PM me it?  

I went to an AWESOME neuroopthamologist in Pikesville and can gladly give you his information if you would like.

I am still shocked about JH.  But then again....U of MD shocked me as well with their NL who said I didn't have Chiari and when I requested him to look at my films while I was present he said .... oh yeah there it is....WTH.

Everything is so mismanaged and employees don't care.  I have acquired an aneurysm in my left internal carotid artery and JH decided to do a watch and see yearly scan (no stress here, lol) so this am I went and had it rescanned.  Yep...another scan with contrast, smh.  Anyway I wanted to actually have the scan done at JH which is where it was done last year because they have a Flash CT but insurance wouldn't permit it so I ended up at the big chain radiology place.  I asked who had the best machines and none of them have the flash machine...they scheduled me I went and as I was walking out found out that the location I went to has the older version CT machine so now I don't even know that it will detect as well and be comparable.  Always something.

So you know I have seen 3 NS @ JH but the JH NL I saw was at Bayview and not the main campus so I didn't know they worked in teams.  The only team I received there was the Team of Brush Offs  ;-/

Unfortunately I'm stuck with him because they work in teams at hopkins so i have my nl my ns my neuro-ophthalmologist (i didn't know the shirt for that one lol) but you get the point so i see my nl and if he sees something wrong he sends me to my ns or the eye dr who eever he sees fit. i mean i can make an appt on my own but its a lot longer process. so really he is my portal

  What  about  your  PCP?...Mine  is the one  that does  all  my  blood  panels....I  do not  have  a NL....not  sure  if  you  remember  my  story  trying  to  get one  b4  surgery....crazy...so,  I opted  not to  have  one....you  have  a lot  more  going  on and I understand  your  need  of  one....but  a  good  PCP  can help  were  the other Drs  drop the ball.

Do  you  have  to keep  going  back  there....with  all that has  happened?...any  NL's  not  affiliated  there?

I told you my nl is crap! and he's from hopkins!!! ugh!!!! anyways thank goodness for Dr. F! I don't know yet we were talking by email and she said she was going to look it over and get back to me.

...Goodness....why....are...your...Drs...not....doing..regular...blood...panels.....to..check?...I...was...tested..every...6..months...as...kidney...and..liver..issues..are..known...with.,..TOPAMAX....even...stones...ouch....so,,,,my..,Dr.stayed.....on..top...of..it...and...I...am...off..it..now..

...So....glad...Dr...F...did,..the...testing....what...can...they...do..for..you?And,this...DX....explains...some...of...your...current...symptoms.

thank you! CL checks for acidosis, I'm in acidosis because of the topamax I've been on forever (well we think) what pisses me off is it wasn't even my nl who ordered my blood work! it was Dr. Francomano! thank god for her!

Hey Molly.....My doctors always run C-Reactive Protein tests when I complain about muscle and joint pains.  It checks for inflammation in the body.  What is CL?  My daughters was raised when she was complaining of knee and leg pains but Rheumatology referral showed nothing.
