incision from decompression dark red

My daughter had the decompression surgery 8 days ago snd yesterday we noticed that her incision was a very dark red almost the color of a birth mark and she is still in extreme pain pretty much all the time she will sleep for a few minutes and the wake up screaming my question is why would the incision be a dark red?

Hi...I am so sorry ur DD is having so much pain...is she still on her meds...and on a schedule with them?

Wolf is right call the nurse ASAP....and let them decide what is going on and the best course of action.

I assume you have spoken with the nurse already about this, if not I would right away.

Is it warm around the incision? or swollen?
