jaw pain?

Since i had surgery I've had a problem with the left side of my jaw "catching". when i open my mouth very wide it feels like it catches and it's definitely not painless. I never had a problem with it before. Anyone else have this issue?

really?wow  I had never heard neone not have a positive with the mouth guard,.....good to know that it may not work.....

Tried the mouth guard for a very long time, did nothing. My pt even tried some exercises, nope nothin...ra said at first I could get shots but after checkin it over told me it would just cause more damage....

My sister has TMJD and sleeps with a mouth guard. She says it helps a lot. She also goes to a chiropractor for them to adjust her jaw. When he does her jaw, he only manipulates her mandible, so it may be ok for Chiari patients to try.

  Did n;t they suggest u wear that sleep guard? I know that is what many Drs suggest...u can get the one at the sports supply store and u heat it up and it gets formed to ur mouth....it helps at night from grinding and it slipping....could be worth a try?

I have tmj my whole life and mines so bad my ra dr says there's absolutly nothin they can do for me. It hurts everyday...some days soo bad I can barely talk and have to force myself to eat....ask your dentist. That's how I found out, then years later my dr ordered xrays to confirm it and my ra confirmed my eds

  It could be TMJD....if u have EDS it is one of the issues u can deal with...and could be the tube from being intubated  shifted this joint....???

Have ur dentist look at the jaw.
