3 1/2 years after surgery

I had surgery dec 2009 and this past june the pain in the back of my head is back... have had 2 sets of mri's with and without contrast  nothing shows up
the pain is so intense and getting worse.  The Neurologist tried to tell me it was migraine because he has them  but after hydrotherapy infusion, steroid infusion, and a pain stimulation test nothing showed up.  So now more pain pills have been added (which does not help)
THE ONLY REAL THING THAT HELPS IS LAYING FLAT ON MY BACK.  Does anyone know if an MRI can be done standing up?
My reason for asking this is  when laying down I feel ok and the spinal fluid is flowing normal.. but when i get up is the problem.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
I live in Southern California and any doctor recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

If this Dr is not a Chiari specialist and has not looked into these other related conditions I am not sure the injection will help.....

A few Drs have tried this and for some it may help for a little while and others it does nothing for them....we are all different in how this affects us and how they can treat it....

Disability is hard to get with this condition....so this Dr must believe u do not have the quality of life u need in order to work.....

Hi I am so sorry u r having this pain again.....and yes, there are upright MRI's.

Have u been tested for POTS or ICP, CCI....??? Ehlers-Danlos?

Ne of these conditions that are related to Chiari can cause similar if not the same symptoms.....

We do have a Drs list and I know in CA u mostly have Kaiser INS....I know there is a Dr on the list that works with Kaiser....not sure if this is true for u.....U may just want to send ur MRI's to a Chiari specialist out of state just for an opinion....some do this free of charge wile others charge a nominal fee,

May I ask, what all was done during ur decompression?
