mri

I go Mon Dec 31 for my MRI they said will last a couple of hours. Does anyone know why it takes so long? And what are they looking for.

Had my mri done. They put me to sleep because I am claustrophobic and put a tube down my throat because sleep apnea. Still have a sore throat from the tube. Thanks for your suggestion about the sweatpants and earplugs. Have great new year.

I don't know if you have gone to have your MRI done yet, but I had a full flow MRI of the brain and spine and it does take a long time.  I suggest you wear sweat pants with no metal and this helps so you don't have to get dressed over and over again.  I also brought ear plugs which toned down the noise a little bit.  I hope you get this before you go.  Wishing you the best

What type(s) of scans are you having done?  Is it c-spine, t-spine, and l-spine?  With or without contrast?  If they are doing your brain and entire spine, it does take about that long.
