Yes when bp gets that high it can cause other issues as well as making you feel bad. I told my Dr I was so on edge I felt like I was going to snap. This was my first diagnosis in the long chain leading to chiari. Mine was 190 over something.... With lisinopril I ran around 150/90 still high but better
Do try and get something to calm your pressure if possible. High BP can cause so many other problems ( I am sure your aware) . The last thing you need is to have a stroke or something on top of the chiari. Linisopril alsoo worked well for my mother for years. It was the only one that kept it at bay.
Thanks for all the info everyone. I am going to look into that. All my doctor wants to do is push pills at me. my blood pressure is currently 172/ 118 last month it was 148/ 112 and so on each month it is getting higher.
I was on high bp meds prior to surgery and post op my bp is normal. I had read that bp can be affected. I Watson a couple iff rent meds before they found one that worked for me and lisinopril is what I was taking that did work.
Ur issues sound like POTS as it is a positional issue-check out this link.

I as well have the opposite problem. Mine is and always has run extremely low. I sure hope that you start to feel better. Mine runds between 70/40 and 60/35. The drs always freak, but all they ever do is gove me juice which does not make sense because that should be for low blood sugar no blood pressure. Good luck to you both.
Mine has also ran low....never had high BP...it did raise up to normal ranges while I was pregnant...but for the most part I have low BP.
Many have BP issues that also have POTS...so do talk to ur Dr about that, it is more of a positional issue, but u may want to ask if it is possible.,
I actually seem to have the opposite problem. Mine is very low and today they had to try several times and ask a second person to do it to confirm they got it right: 96/54. I keep telling them this is how I always am. Only time it ever got "high" was when I was pregnant, 120/70.. lol
Which is why I'd love to know what it drops to when I initially stand up and almost faint, but no one is interested in finding that out but myself.
What is yours running?
