im new to the forum  im 4 yrs into chiari i am reading that my symptoms  are common and not my imagination.   i do have one more question (for now lol )    does any one freeze up when in a deep sleep ?  i know not having rem sleep is common but i freeze up if i go into a deep sleep, does any one else suffer from this ?

I have heard of sleep paralysis, but I have not heard of a chiarian say they had it......
DO u lie flat on ur back? ...if so u may want to try ur side.....lying on ur back may be impinging a nerve.

  I really do not know what else to suggest at this time...except I am sorry I missed this.

  the pain is from where the chairi surgery was done to the middle of my spine

  if i go into a deep sleep,  i cant move my upper body.  i awake from pain from my upper body beeing stiff.  i have to lay there for awhile and let my body relax.  i looked it up and it's like sleep paralysis.  yes ive been to a sleep specialist and he said  "you can't move with sleep paralysis "  i know that, i can't move.  the pain for the rest of the day is horrible.

  HI Sandy..can u explain ur freeze up  issue a bit more?...I am not sure i know what u mean ...if u r asleep how do u know u freeze up.....mayb I do not understand what u r saying???
