I have a son who was a wrestler, and it's my experience that wrestlers cry after losing. These are some pretty tough guys but somehow - I don't know what - losing a wrestling match makes men cry.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but have you tried asking him after the fact, like after he has calmed down and some time has passed? An 11 year old I would think should be able to tell you what's wrong. Does he have any developmental disabilities that makes it hard for him to use his words?
It is an energy release. Manyways to do it and if this works for him then ok.
Can I have more details. What do you mean 'energy release?'
Energy gets built up in people and crying gets it out otherwise stress builds up. Simply put why do people cry, from pain, anxiety, sorrow, loss. He could be proud of himself from the wrestling match or not satisfied with his performance. All of these release energy.
Thank you very much for your insights.
