10 year old stutters. It seems to be getting worse. What could be the cause?

Started to stutter in about the 2nd grade and it appears to be getting worse.  She does well in school.  She is an only child.  Other than the stutter she seems to be well adjusted.

My husband has a bit of a stutter. He was bullied a lot and has dealt with anxiety as well.

Seek help from the school's resources.  I have a friend well into their college years still stuttering.  It needs to be fixed, or it will effect their relationships, communications, social skills, and employment/careers.

I agree, anxiety. I still stutter very much when I feel backed into a corner by someone because I have anxieties. I would make sure she isn't getting picked on in school.

Could be anxiety.  Does she do it in all locations or only in certain places like home or school?
