Help! My 5 year old son kisses me in my sleep

This is very strange to me. I was taking a nap and woke up to my 5 year old son hold his lips to my lips. He didn't stick his tongue in my mouth but as I was waking I felt him puckering his lips to mine for about 5 seconds. I pretended to stay asleep to see what else he would do. I pretended to wake up quickly and he jumped away starteled. I said what are you doing sweetie. He said nothing and laid back down on the other end of the couch. Because I was so curious, I pretended to fall asleep. He waited till he felt like I was asleep again only about 20 seconds later. He walked over to me, picked up my hand and held it and then tried to kiss me again. This time I woke up and said, "hey sweetie, what it is, are you trying to give mommy a kiss?" He seemed embarrased and laid back down. I didn't know how to react. I left it alone but I know something needs to be done. I didn't tell him I knew what he was doing because I didn't want him to think that I approved of that sort of behavior. What should I do?

im sorry, but did you say your son was 5 years old?.and you pretended to stay asleep! what possible alterior motive did you actually think your baby, and at that age they are still your baby, did you acutally think he had? they can just about tell time but you say he waited for 20 mins for you to fall asleep! coz at that age they work the head(sarcsism). maybe its a son that loves his mommy, and its you that has the problem.

Hi:-) I wouldn't worry much! IMO I would've just mentioned it when u felt him kiss u the first time. My son was actually 3 or 4 and I experienced the same thing (but I was awake. He'd always want to give me a kiss but on the lips "like daddy") So my immediate reaction was "JJ ur not supposed to kiss mommy like daddy does ( I made a joke out of it tho!)..He said why not? So I said b/c it's not normal for mommies and sons to kiss on the lips for a long time, only mommy and daddies kiss on the lips like that. U can kiss  mommy on the cheeks or quickly on the lips b/c that's normal for mommies and their sons or daughters to do!!..Of course it proceeded with the question what's normal? lol..I told him normal is when u feel right about something. If u think u shouldn't be doing something then it's not normal.. He was fine with that. I find as long as the answer makes some kind of sense and they feel like u are taking them seriously they'll accept it ( yea even at age 3.4,5,6+). I also noticed with my son, if I don't  make a big deal out of it, it works out. I'm not saying it's a guarantee but It's worked for me. (so far..lol) Good luck:-)
