child upset after family move

My daughter's family recently relocated due to a change in her husband's job. The change necessitated job training that took my son-in-law away from the family for 4 months. Since the move, my granddaughter who is in 3rd grade cries at the drop of a hat. Her crying may be triggered by thinking of a past event, seeing something on tv, etc. She will remain upset for days. My daughter stays at home and is a devoted mom; my son in law works hard, but is always available; he spends lots of time with my granddaughter. Is there anything that my daughter can do to help my granddaughter identify her feelings and then to handle them. I told her that it will take time for her to feel safe and secure now that the family is intact again, but I don't know at what point to tell her to get some professional help.

Your Grandaughter has some anxiety about the Move firstly she had to leave her school and her friends then a new House, area and school to deal with, then her Dad is away for quite a while, its a lot, I dont think this is anything other that time will heal and as she makes friends and settles in all will be well, tell her Mom not to feed into it and if the child crys its okay its a release of her feelings , let it go and all will be well. Do not read more into it, or it could make more of it in her mind.
