My son is 22 months old, and while he's always had a temper, lately he is having temper tantrums, especially when we have to ask him to stop doing something he wants (ie. coming in from playing outside, when it's time to stop a game he likes etc...) His tantrums can go on for 5-10 minutes before he gets himself calmed down. He will throw himself to the floor, screaming/crying. If you try to pick him up he will lash out at us, hitting our face and tonight he pulled my hair. I will admit, as far as our personalities goes, both my husband and I have a temper (his is longer, mine is shorter) and I am quite impatient. Are these tantrums just a normal (unfortunate) combination of our personalities? Or do they bear watching? In every other sense, he's a great child, normally very happy, speaking well, ahead on physical milestones, and plays well (LOVES to play) with other children. The only other thing I can think of is recently, within the last month, his bedroom has been completely remodelled, and he has moved into a big bed. While he seemed to adjust perfectly to these changes, could these still be prompting the tantrums?
