Behavioural probelm with my 3 year old kid

My 3 year old kid is not answering to questions properly. 80% of the time she diverting the talk. But she knows the answer. For example, if we ask her to tell one rymes which she very well knows, she will not tell. But when is alone or when is in good mood she will tell. She is studying pre-kg now. Her teacher is complaining that she is not answering to her question. I consulted a child counsellor, She said, she has to take therapy. I don't know whether I have to really take her to therapy. Kindly advice.

Agree completely, but I do wonder about that child counselor. Think I would find a different one next time.

sounds like normal kid behavior to me all kids like to do what they want to do sounds like shes just being stubborn and doesn't want to answer questions till she's ready too you have to remember she's only 3 she's probably grow out of it just have patience with her now if she starts doing other things that are concerning then you might consider counselling but i see nothing usual or concerning about this behavior
