Help, what is wrong with my son

I came to the doctors forum, to get a specific answer from a physician.. My son is turning 2 in February. But however he is still not using at least 10 words of speech, he is extremely hiper and can not stay still at all. He is also very hard to get threw and dicsipline. My son is still asking for drink threw out the night. And can not fully sleep. When he wakes up he wines but he is half way sleep with his eyes close. I usually have to put a cup in his mouth. He also being very ruff with his older sister who is 5yrs with autism. Most of the time he pulls her hair alot, or uses her as a giny pig. He is a non stop energizing bunny.. And he is still crying alot, just like a newborn. always wining or crying. Could my son have ADHD??? could he also have AUTISM??? or is this a behavior issue or concern????

I would look at sensory issues. My son has SPD and he was delayed speech like your son. He's six now and he speaks well.  It took him until after age three to start to talk.  But he had a hard time learning to sleep through the night. The drinks might be comforting to him-- oral gratification.   Sometimes kids with sensory issues get rough with other kids and don't realize it.  I would talk to your doctor and there are some books you can read.  The out of Sync Child, Sensational kids are a couple that are really good.  Also, there is some good stuff on the net about Sensory Processing disorder.

Sounds like you have your hands really full!!

Harmony,  his behaviors sound more like they're in the autism spectrum than ADHD.

He also sounds like he could have some sensory issues,  with the baby crying and whining.

Can you get him evaluated by an OT?  I think that would be the first step to trying to help him.

BTW,  this isn't a doctor's forum - but there is a doctor forum on this website.  This is mostly a group of moms who are interested in child behavior.

Best wishes.
