My 10 year old son's narcistic behaviors

My son is a ten year old with excellant grades but often demonstrates narcistic behaviors both in the class and at home.  "Rules" sometimes do not apply to him.  In class, if he has the answer he will either make noises with his hand up or will yell it out.  The teacher and I have develop plans to assist him in the room.  I have started to make him right the issue of concern several times in the evening, hoping to alter the behavior.  He also has the "yeah but," issue when it comes to my directives.  Finally, he acts like nothing affects him in regards to directives or discipline.  His facial expressions show a "whatever" attitude to all that is presented to him.  HELP!!

I agree this can be anoying however I think in this life confidence is a good thing so whilst some better manners would be good do not curb his self confidance, I would not use any punishment method I would consistantly work on taking him through how he could behave to  make everyone like him more .I like the fact you say you and the Teacher have got together to form some plans to help assist him, this is a good thing.Sounds like he is a bright intelligent boy who will go far, good luck
