Is my child mental

My daughter makes terrible choices. She made a death threat to her whole highschool and got expelled.She wanted everyone to blow up and video taped it and posted it on face book. There we other kids involved. Expelled from all schools in WA state. I don't know what's wrong with her.
What do we do?

Did she know how big this would become?  Is she sorry for doing it?  Has she made poor choices in the past?  I do think she needs to talk to someone.  I am so sorry this happened.  All of you must be so upset.  Very harsh consequences and now days the schools can't be too careful BUT your daughter can do school online and she can go on to do great things.  It's going to be a rough road for a while but hang in there.  I think a lot depends on how she reacted to all of this.  Goodluck.

Wow, that must be scary as a parent.  Pretty big stuff to make death threats to your school and be banned from all schools in the state.  I think that I'd be trying to figure out if she was extremely misguided and trying to be 'funny'----  and is learning a really hard lesson that some things simply are not funny at all and pranks like this are unacceptable or was she really considering causing harm to others.  Neither is good but one is obviously more serious than the other.

I would immediately find a therapist that specializes in her age group and begin exploring what is going on.  I'd try to find a clinical psychologist if you can and one that works in conjunction with a psychiatrist in case this is needed.

You say there were other kids involved , was she the main instigator , have you asked her WHY ..?

I agree with C_hurtin    she does need a lot of help , she seems upset has there been any bullying at school that she would feel like this, also what is her home life like are there problems there, has she siblings she gets on well with .
