Our child is headed for a bad futur....

I need some help. We foster children and are looking to adopt these two great kids. One is a boy and one is a girl. The boy is 9 and he has anger problems. Very severe anger problems. He can also be the sweetest boy in the world, but when we gets mad he is very violent and doesn't want anything to do with anyone. He hit's, punches, kicks, and recently choked his sister. He has an older brother who is in a juvenile center and we see only that path for our soon to be child. It breaks my heart seeing how he acts sometimes and I don't want anything bad to happen.  If you could give us some advice in how to deal and help him in this situation it'll be very appreciated. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I really hope I'm not speaking out of turn,  or saying things that ought not be said.

The thing is,  the greatest determiner of criminality in the son,  is criminality of the father.

This statistic transcends boys who are adopted out at birth and never know their biodad,  transcends socio economic level,  and transcends intervention and placing the boy in a loving supportive environment.

Some boys have difficulty from their environment,  and if placed in a loving structured place tend to fare well.

But sons of career criminal fathers - who show signs of violence/antisocial behavior themselves - very seldom rehabilitate.

I really hope I've given you hope with this post - that his dad isn't a career felon,  that he's grown up in nutsy chaos and often that kind of boy responds well to caring parents.

Best wishes.
