Sleep Issues

My daughter is 4 1/2 and scared to be alone and of the dark.  She won't sleep in her room.  Recently with the hurricane, she was upstairs when we lost power and the alarm was tripped.  She got scared from the dark house and the alarm is very loud.  We evacuated for the storm, but she seems to be scared to be alone under any circumstance.  She even wants me to stand in the door of the bathroom.  I would love some ideas to get her to be more independant.  Other than this, we don't have any other behavior problems or issues.  She does great in pre-k and is very respectful.   She is "really" scared, not just playing games.  Any ideas?

Those Hurricanes are pretty scary arent they, as this was all very recent perhaps you have simply to let some time go by, she is only 4 year old , maybe she also overheard a lot of scary stuff on the Radio or TV and from other people, dont feed into it no more words , with some time and positive attention she will come to terms and feel better.
