Tantrums at school

My 4.5 year old daughter is in jeopardy of losing her enrollment at her school due to "tantrums". She did not have them at 2- 3, but is now tantruming over very minor incidents. For example, not being first in line or being called on when the teacher asks a question. She has been given two weeks to diminish or greatly improve the behaviors or she will be asked to leave the school. Any suggestions? Please help!

what is the program doing when she has these tantrums? what modifications/interventions etc... have they done? I personally find it unusual for a program to threaten expulsion for tantrums. is she just crying/screaming, or is she also physically harming herself or others? also, does she exhibit these behaviors at home or while in public?

of course it is not acceptable for a 4 year old to throw tantrums like that. but the fact that they are starting now all of a sudden makes me wonder what has changed? is there a new teacher? different situation at home? are the expectations different in this class than in her previous classes? why aren't they trying to work on it and determine why she is behaving this way? if she truly was fine in the past and has started these this year, something seems off.

Have you tried any reward programs? Like a sticker chart for good behavior at school and at the end of each week she gets a reward like a play day at the park or whatever. Also I heard a good idea about giving your child a token for every good (or improved) day she has at school and if she has a bad (or not improving) day at school she gets a token or even all of them away. Then at the end of the week she can buy something with her tokens. How do you talk to her about the behavior. Have you told her about the consequence if she doesn't improve? Maybe a little scare tactic that she will not be able to go to that school anymore if she doesn't behave better?
