8yr. old granddaughter pooping in bathroom toy container, hiding it

My 8  and 7yr. old granddaughters still wear pull ups. I found earlier today that the oldest had pooped in the bath time toy container some time this week, wiped with a bath scrubby and hid the fact until my nose tracked down the source of the odor.  Tonight I found feces in a cup covered by a second cup on the bathroom sink.  The youngest told her father (my son) that the older one had first pooped in a toy bucket then put the feces in the cup.  Everyone in their household has ADHD behaviors and living with this family is extremely stressful.  I don't know what to do other than to seek information and find a reason she is doing this behavior.  This psychological behavior is extremely alarming to me.  What can I do, what needs to be done to help her??

One can only hope it will get better as they get older, at least you are there for them ..Maybe they egg each other on and make a game of it ?

No, not on meds for any psychological concerns.  I agree about the pull ups, but have little say in that matter.  She is taking an oral med for strep that she cannot seem to get rid of.  Nothing of the incident has my son or d-in-law concerned outwardly.  They sleep all the time, never do anything as a family.  I believe the whole family has depression issues.  I work 2 part time jobs and keep house for them.  Co-dependency run amok, as well.

Is she on meds for the ADHD as some have side effects that can cause this kind of behavior , I think pull ups are exacerbating the problem ,these children should be in regular underwear, sounds like they are upset . In my opinion their mother should take them to the prescribing doctor and ask about the meds dosage or change it, also speak to the Doctor about the 'pooping problem .good luck
