I did as adgal did with the bicycling of the legs and moving them up to the belly in unisom. I also did a little light massage on the abdomen. I used the gas drops as well with one drop put into a bottle(per pedi recommendation. My first son was hard to soothe but second wasn't. My first is still harder to soothe! We walked and rocked my first a lot which helped. Babies can like the squeeze of the arms of a loved one as it is soothing. I've had friends that have run a vacuume as well. ??? I never did that but it is one of those old timey remedies.
I have also heard baby massage can help soothe them, try distraction, music may help .
There is a fabulous book out there called "Happiest Baby on the Block". It was written by a pediatrician and deals specificially with soothing techniques for babies with colic. I can tell you that of all the baby books I read, this one was absolutely hands down the best and the most practical. Very simple soothing techniques and trust me, they worked. I highly recommend it. The other thing that worked really well for my infant was laying him on his back and gently bicycling his legs. It really helped move the gas. Best of luck.
Gripe water is good isnt it I used it with mine , they also have one called Dinnefords ,which is sold in the UK it may be the one you mean ..
Hi razie my daughter is 10 weeks old and has the same thing i sympathise with you its horrible my daughter also has slow weight gain.
We are using Colief Drops in the milk and also Lactulose to help her poop. Then after her bottle we give her 2.5 ml of gripe water which helps a little.
i also find that holding your baby so there chest is against yours usualy helps get the wind out and sooths the baby hope this helps.
Also Stock up on gripe water its hard to get atm lol
Babys get more air when they are bottle fed so just Burp "her more ,it will help a bit, this is very common and she will get through it after a few months and sometimes once they are on solid food.it will disapppear, Meanwhile try the Fun game they are never too young to love noise and Music, I have even heard of a very Famous Star' who instructed her Nanny to vacuum all day long to keep her Baby quiet , it worked so well they had to get her off the Habit or it would drive them Mad!, However some music is a good thing and hows your singing voice, some wonderful Nursary Rhymes out there .
thank you so much for your comment, I will try the sugar water, I have the gripe water also and I will also try that, I am breast feeding and bottle feeding but mostly bottle feeding.
It does sound like Colic it is common around this age and its not much Fun for you and Her, she will get out of it,they say its Air getting trapped when they suck and causing discomfort, I was brought up in England and had my first child there, we wre all brought up to give the Baby Dinnefords or Gripe water, its slightly pepperminty(not much) and is formulated for young Babys. I dont know if you can get it here if you can run it by your Doc first to see what he thinks, he will have heard of it its an old Remedy. Make sure she has been :winded well" after each feeding, you dont say if she is Breast fed I think they take in less wind than Bottle fed Babys. Also ask th Doc if its okay to give a little sugar water to her for the constipation, as the time progresses some watered Orange Juice is fine.Main thing also is dont worry, its tiring for you but it does pass, and is very common.Try some music when she is crying , some movement may help, does Mom like to Dance even month olds can have fun, distraction can work. Good luck,
