cough and fever

Hi there. My child has got a cough with a fever. He is 5 years old. His nose is not running and he has got a wet cough. His nose is a bit blocked. I would just like to know what could it be and what could I do to get rid of his cough and fever. please help.

It depends on how high his temp is, and how bad he is coughing.  He's obviously fighting some type of infection.  Does he have a productive cough, and if so, what is he coughing up?

sounds like a viral thing plenty of fluids keep an eye on his fever give him paracetomol and keep him in just his underwear and vest,with the cough i dont think any meds really work i just think it has to ride itself out

It is possible it is flu or maybe a virus going round school ,keep an eye on the fever, lots of drinks I believe you can give them med to help with the fever, check with the druggist to see what cough med you could give him ..good luck let us know how he is doing ..
