toilet training

My 26 month daughter will not sit on the potty or the toilet, she says she is scared and sreams the house down even if you atempt to put her on. she will run around with no nappie but when she needs to go she asks to put one on and will hold on till you do, so she nos when she has to go. Tryed bribing her with smarties if she will just sit on the potty but nothing will work. Help, should i just leave it till when she wants to herself?

As my pediatrician said (a father of 4!) - she is ready when she is ready.  I was the same way with my first one, started potty training when she was 12mo old.  She was fully potty trained by about 26mo, but the amount of stress for me and for her was too much.  So with my second daughter I was watching for "signs of readiness", and guess what - she started her potty training at 26mo and was fully trained in 4 months with no hassle.  Bottom line - do not stress yourself and your chind.

I am going through the potty training and my daughter is exactly the same,it is as if they are afraid of it aint it,dont pressure her i aint and i think as long as she has the idea in her head and is shown they will eventually do it,my two others would never use the potty either straight to the toilet when they were ready.

I would say she's not ready yet to be potty trained she is 2 year old , a lot of children are not ready till they are 3 year old, so I suggest you relax buy some pullups and in 6 months discard them for big girl pants, the pretty ones with barbie or mermaids on them .Then remove the pullups altogether , so you'll get an accident or two..just mop up... Nights may take a little longer , it will happen ..good luck
