i dont know what area your in but contact your local school board and see if you have a special school for younger kids who have speech and or phisical problems thats what i done with my granddaughter and now she is 3 yrs old and wont stop talking
my son is almost 3 well in august he will be 3 he maybe says 10 words i have been really concerned cause hearing problems run in the family at all my sons check ups they would say there was nothing to worry about even his 2 year when he was only saying mommy, daddy, and sissy they told me every child develops at there own age. witch i think is bs but whaever. i finaly got a speach theropist to come out and she convermed me worst fear that he was now severaly behind in his speach. well he is now almost 3 and after a year of try'n to get them to test his hearing they finally have and he needed tubs. i just want to tell you if they say you have to wait till he is 3 or 4 to have his hearing tested find another doc untill u find one that will cause there are ones. i would say give it alitle time. work with him we bought this new learning system that is out called your baby can read and my son has learned lotes of new word but still not talking like a 3 year old should with sentances. my best advice to you would be go with your gut you know your son better than anyone. and don't wait till he is 3 the he is way behind like my son. i knew with my son he ould try to talk to us and geet really frustraited when he could not get us to understand him and start troing fit.
OK, so this may sound like a silly question.. but does your son have frequent problems with ear infections?
My nephew was the same way, rarely talked. Then they found a hole in his eardrums, and placed plugs in them.
Every since then he has been a talking machine.
Is your child in an in home daycare or a center? I noticed with my child that he learned more at a center then at an in home daycare... that's just my thought. Not sure if that will help
