PLZ tell me if this sounds like Chronic Bronchitis

I'm 23 years old, 8 year smoker... Ive quit for a couple months but no improvement.

I have absolutely no cough, no tightness in chest, it doesnt wake me up at night,  it seems to get worse when I think about it... like at the grocery store or the gym.  Its constantly on my mind tho, so its hard to gauge.

It didnt come in gradually, one day I could breathe, then I got sick, and the difficulty breathing never went away after my cold was gone.

I got a PFT, and the guy that ran it said "I bet its chronic bronchitis"... I don't think he was even a doctor!  my doctor never called me back, he just set up an appointment two months down the line.  If it were Chronic Bronchitis, wouldn't he want to tell me right??  I wouldn't mind too much if I had it... I just want closure!

thank you!

Yes, but its been 7 months since this all started.  I waited 5 months before going to a doctor and he said he assumed it was asthma.  Gave me a PFT a month later, and then a follow up 2 months after that.

I have quit smoking.

Sounds like you hat a bout of bronchitis which means inflamation of the bronchial tubes.  Most likely your doctor treated you for that and maybe gave you inhalation steiroids to decrease the swelling and inflamation.  He wants to wait a couple of months to let things settle down before he can determine if you have chronic bronchitis or not.  Most likely he told you to stop smoking-right?  Did you?
