I have stomach varices also. Did he put you on an antacid? Omaprazole I think is the one I am on.
How much Nadolol are you taking? The worst thing about those is that they can't be banded. I was unaware of the glueing procedure. I'm gonna research it now.
I'm going to add you as a friend. I had a bleed out and survived during tx. You're going to be ok. Let me know if you need anything..

Gastric varices are more dangerous than esophageal varices especially if they are big and have red color signs.

Glue therapy is a simple but effective therapy for gastric varices.

Here is a few more details about the procedure.

How does cyanoacrylate glue treatment work?

"Cyanoacrylate is a liquid substance with the consistency of water that transforms into a solid state when added to a physiological medium such as blood. When instilled into a varix using the standard method of intravariceal injection, the glue undergoes an instantaneous polymerization reaction and hardens to a rock hard substance, thereby plugging the lumen of the varix. This enables rapid hemostasis of active bleeding and prevents rebleeding.

How is glue injection performed?

A therapeutic gastroscope with a large working channel is used for injection. Variceal injection is performed with a 23-gauge disposable sclerotherapy needle. The varix (single varice) is punctured under direct visualization and approximately 1cc of the glue is injected intravariceally. After injection, the patency of the varix is assessed with blunt catheter palpation and additional glue injected until the varices are obliterated."

Cyanoacrylate (N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate, ‘glue’)
Cyanoacrylate undergoes rapid polymerization on contact with living tissues and obliteration of varices occurs when the injected cyanoacrylate adhesive hardens on contact with blood. The mucosa overlying the varix eventually sloughs and the polymer is extruded.

Variceal bleeding is the most common lethal complication of cirrhosis, with a mortality rate of 20%. Gastroesophageal varices are present in 50% of cirrhotics, and approximately 25% of patients with portal hypertension have gastric varices.

Gastric varices tend to be larger and more tortuous (twisted) compared with esophageal varices, characteristics that, combined with their anatomical location, make endoscopic management more challenging. Gastric varices are less common than esophageal varices and have a higher mortality rate. Current management strategies for gastric varices include β-blockers, endoscopic therapy (band ligation, and tissue adhesives), transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) placement, and surgical intervention.
