cchrosis of the Liver

I just got diagnosed with Cchrosis of the liver, I was shocked on Monday to find out that I had this. For the last six months been dealing with low platelets and brusied real easy. I also the last two weeks have really been really tired, I just felt different biopsy done and this what came back. I have never drink, but had fatty liver for years so I guess that is what it is from. I was checked for hepitatis, etc. I am scared we meet with the doctor on Monday to find out what stage etc. I am so scared can anyone tell me can I live with this and can I get ahold of it and stop its progression. Please anyone I need all the help I can get and what questions should I ask when I go in. Thanks a lot Jules

Sorry I have not been on here in awhile, I told you all about my kidney being smaller than the other so they thought. Well had catscan and before I got to far down the road the urologist was call me and said he was sending me to a geo oncologist I have two large masses one the size of a grapefruit and the other size of a saucer off the ovaries. So kidney was not small afther all the masses shadowed them. So I will be going in on Monday the 29th and we will see if it is cancer are not. He is on the line with it due to it is mobile which he did not like. And my markers are elevated but this could be because of the liver so we are just not sure. He said to be prepared and possible debulking etc. I have been on a rollercoaster since june and I am ready for this ride to stop. So please keep me in your prayers for good results. I hope each and every one of you are doing well and I keep you all in my prayers I just pray lord for my Med Help friends to have peace, rest, and good reports. Hugs sent out to u all and will try to check in before surgery on Monday. Jules

Sry it took so long. I was end stage when diagnosed, just like you. I successfully treated for hepatitis c after a year on diuretics n a ton of meds. I treated through a transplant hospital.
I had portal hypertension and varices when I was diagnosed. It was the frightening. I go back to the transplant doc this week. I also see a gastroenterologist.
I guess your endo went well with no varices? That is awesome news for you! It's been almost 3 years. I wasn't expected to make it. With this group, doctors, and a lot of support - all things are possible!
love and prayers,
Karen:)

That's great news.
Cutting out bread and pasta has helped me with a lot of digestive issues too.

3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Stage 2 with cirrhosis of the liver.  The doctor has stared me on steroids and anti rejection meds. I also started to follow the Mayo Clinic Diet and took out meat, pasta and bread. I also drink smoothies from the Eat to Live book.  I don't know if it is the meds or the diet but I feel better and loss 4 pounds..

What kind of specialist Jules? I hope it's a hepatologist and not a gastroenterologist.
