Indire need of HELP !!
I have been having these upper left quad pains first it started about 4 yrs ago but i was also having female problems so i had to have a hysterectomy everything was taken except my ovaries . I told my gyn about these pains that it felt like pressure like something was bulging inside in ribs area back and middle chest. I also started getting GERD at the time too.he thought it was the fibroid tumors causing it because they were pretty well big and he though they were starting to put pressure on other organs. i feel as though im getting more and more symptoms on my left side as yrs pass now.
Also back in nov. i was driving down the road and i started to feel this sharp squeezing pain in the middle but towards my left breast area . at first i was like what the heck, then it started to feel harder squeeze, i started to feel my heart pounding, and then i had to pull over cause the pains started getting intense and i started to feel my left arm get heavy and then i started to hypervenilate because i was scared. paramedics came and thought it was a panic attack and sent me on my way. i never went to the e.r. . Doctors keep saying its a muscle thing go home and take some muscle relaxers, i have been giving naproxin , flexril, and when they thought i had COPD gave me inhalers for months. until i had to go to the E.R. and they said i had an upper resp. infection with broncitius. also a few yrs before all this started taking place , I started coughing it felt like i was coughing for a min straight or so and coughed up a blood clot looking thing, it was dark red . i went to the er and they thought i had TB they did an x-ray and saw a spot on my left lung so they went and did a cat scan, told me oh it must of been a shadow and sent me home, then i went again to the E.R. because i was having chest pressure. so they did a ekg on me and the nurse had to take it 3x and she was saying this doesnt look good, so she went to someone else and they just shrugged it off and told her its nothing. so she came back and told me to wait for the doctor and didnt hear anything more about it. they ran tests on me to see if i can any hernias, or kidney stones and they told me everything was good.
they did a total cholestrol on me and he did tell me that my good cholestrol was a bit low . but he thought it was from me smoking, but i was cutting back i was a smoker on and off since i was 13 yrs old .but now i have quit and this time its for good because its been a year now !
Symptoms - upper left quad pain in ribcage that radiates from front to back towards spine, above the hip area i feel a pinching feeling almost like stitches, because it itches also. i have dull achey feeling in my shoulder down my left arm and also in left jaw bone but the jaw sometimes gets this sharp stabbing pains also. this is all on my left side and i feel as though its not getting any better. Also my ankles swell and my feet like if im on them most of the day and i wear my sneakers with socks i can feel my feet swell inside them. i sometimes get swelling in my hands and face . my belly feels constantly full , i feel flutters , almost like bubbles being blown through a straw inside my left ribcage just under my left breast and towards my underarm, i get breast pain like a burning feeling all through it. and i sometimes feel like my airway is being plugged like someone pressing a finger against my neck. i also noticed when i walk up hills i get really winded like i have to really catch my breath and i breathe heavy. and my heart goes a mile a minute .
My father has CHF ,and enlarge heart and few other major problems diag with heart problems at age 47 ,- my brother has an enlarge heart and possible colon cancer diag. at age 34 -,my grand mother (mother side) had an enalrge heart,bone cancer and lung problems diag at a young age before age 60 i do beleive , My grand father(on dads side) i think also has a heart problem and prostate cancer- my great-gram ( fathers side) had colon cancer and pancreatic cancer she was diag. in oct and passed away in nov (thanksgiving eve). As you can see both sides have there problems .
Unfort. now my hubby has been let go from his job he was at for 6 yrs back in dec. so now our insurance has stopped and we dont have any. So going to a doctor is a huge exspense for us . he is on unemployment for the time being. I just wanna know if anyone out there had these same symptoms when they were diag. with enlarged hearts and heart problems ? I know my chances are greater than normal because of family history . also when i was born i was 3 months early weighing 1lb 6oz , had heart murmurs, and PDA , and i know all kids born early get that but , do they have health problems when they get into adult hood ? also had partcial calasped lung i was in the hospital for 3 months came home and had to go back to the hosp a month later because i stopped breathing so they kept me a wk. other than that as a child i really dont know if i had any other problems , the only reason i knew my child birth was because i got my records from where i was born.
Im so sorry for the long drawn out convo , but i am just baffled as to what this is . i keep getting sent back home and only told its a muscle thing. i truly feel like something is wrong but just cant pinpoint it , something is eratating my left side . dunno if its a lung thing, kidney , or heart , or poss a spleen but doc said spleen was ok . I just dony know anymore. im totaly baffled and confused and its making matters worse. i never knew a person could be in such pain that its shrugged off as a muscle spasims . im not the brightest star in the gallaxy but i know my own body and at the age of 34 i shouldnt be hurting like this !!! I actually feel like im in my 70's .......

I don't know much about the liver, except that it is a blood filter and it produces bile for digestion. I do know that when I was in full swing CHF that all of my major organs were involved and I ended up with stage 5 (end stage) renal disease, and stage 4 heart failure.
I don't know whether smoking would have a effect on HDL, but I do know it's the first question they ask no matter what you're in the office for. Smoking gets blamed for absolutely everything, and if you smoke, most doctors aren't willing to do much for you until you quit. Secondhand smoke is even worse, according to the Medical Association.
If you think you're having trouble with Cholesterol levels, try CoQ10 in 100 milligram tabs. A lot of people have had success with CoQ10 bringing their cholesterol levels to normal range, and it's a lot easier on the stomach and intestines. Niacin works equally well, but can have some uncomfortable side effects, such as stomach ulcers, and flushing.
I'm sorry I can't give you much more information. I receive dialysis 6 days a week, and cholesterol is taken to normal range with it. So I don't have to worry about cholesterol levels, but rather, red blood count, too low BP, albumin levels, and fluid retention, so if I don't have a problem with it, I don't worry about it, nor do I take the time to learn about it, since I have enough new stuff in my life to know about.

Thank you for your response , i was only looking for others opinions as to compare there symptoms . i did manage to get my med records from my old doc. and looked at my cholesterol levels , the only thing that stood out was HDL It was 39 . but my cholesterol lvls were taken 1/29/10 so its been over a year since then. but ill give total numbers

From what you write, it sounds as though you might have Congestive Heart Failure.
Congestive Heart Failure fills the body cavity with fluid, and can make it feel as though it's very full all of the time. It also causes swelling in the legs and feet, that usually doesn't go away without medication. Shortness of breath is another common symptom of CHF.
You have so many issues going on, you need to find a doctor who will listen to you, and take action from what you're telling them. No one here is going to be able to help you, except to tell you to find yourself a doctor who will listen.
