Hi,
Transmural infection means damage of all the layers of the heart in that particular area, this cannot be regenerated and remain as scar tissue. While LVEF can be improved with drugs, strict diet and exercise regime. At first the underlying cause that lead to low EF values should made out for further assessment on drugs. In your case large transmural infarct has affected heart muscles making them weak leading to LV dilatation in the long term. You should take drugs to improve LV contractibility as well as reduce preload over heart.
I would recommend that you consult a cardiologist for further assistance on this. Best.
Dear Dr:
thank you for your kindness. the doctor administrated the following medicines:
1- PROGREL - AP one tablet per day
2- NICOGET tow tablet per day
3- LASORIDE 10 mg one tablet per day
4- RAST 10 mg one tablet per day
5- CORBIS 2.5 mg one tablet per day
so is there any chance for improving or recovering of LVEF,LV dilition, and transmural infraction with above medicines or not and also
thank you in advance
Hi,
Ejection fraction around 50-70% is considered normal, but less than 35% is considered risky , as patient’s can develop arrhythmias which can be life threatening at this stage. In addition to this LV(left ventricle) dilatation and large transmural infarct leads to deterioration of proper functioning of the ventricle leading to left ventricular failure.
EDV and ESV are slightly on higher side and are attributed to the functioning of the left ventricle. It is important to improve EF value for better prognosis. This can be done with medications and angioplasty. Hope this helps. Best.
