I've had this for 20 years or more.
I have been looked at by a Dietician and it seems to be linked to food intolerances. Seems a bit hippy type thing but I have been put under the "Addenbrook exclusion Diet" and there have been some good improvements.
It takes iron will and a huge amount of diet sheets which will make you want to pull your hair out but it is a part of the answer for sure. My bogey foods seem to be Wheat, Yogurt and Onions. I have had problems recently with my breathing and no amount of Inhalers seem to nail it.
When I doubt that it works, I try a bit of wheat or Yogurt and memories come flooding back.
Dr Addenbrook is part of the Cambridge University, uk I think but is known in Dietician Circles.
Hope that helps.
