I had a sub total colectomy three years ago-no choice abcesses and strictures I now spend more time in the loo than I did before so if you can improve the way you feel with diet you carry on!!  I am definately going to look into it, good luck with it.

i am 27 just found out i now have to go for surgery within 8 weeks. i have a very supportive family and they did a little research. i have now discovered a thing call macrobiotic diet. i go for a scope on the 20th of this month this is to determine exactly where they need to go. my cousin's husband had the same things going on in his life living with crohns. he started this diet 2 weeks prior to his scope and they could not believe the change's they saw. he was still scheduled to go for the operation 7 weeks later. he continued with this macrobiotic way of life and the doc's were amazed the operation was canceled and 4 months later he is virtually symptom free. If there is anyone that is done with the methorexate and prednisone and any other drugs they might have you on i highly suggest looking into it. i am on day 2 and have already noticed slight minuet changes i cant wait to see what day 7 and 21 hold for me or anyone else. the book he just gave me was called Controlling Crohn's Disease The Natural Way, Virginia Harper with Tom Monte. I have not put the book down seance being giving it 2 days ago. send me a message if you are interested in finding a different way. 13 yr and long hours in emerg i finally have the hope that i really might be able to live a normal life. i hope i put a spark in even one person's heart. thanks Brandie

try going on a liquid diet and make use of ensure or boost until your condition stabilizes. prednisone always worked well for me. find a supportive doc who is a good listener. always ask questions. it's easier to deal with this condition when you understand exactly what's happening to your body. hang in there. it isn't always this bad and you will hopefully stabilize and have some symptom free time soon.

i too have chrons disease, and was on inflaximab before. it worked well for about a year and a half, but then my body lost response to it. I then started Humira (adalimumable) and i am not having any luck with it.

I am seeing a dietitician next week to see if it helps my chrons disease.
I recommend you see a dietitcian or nutritionist, it just might help

Good Luck

You need to change dr. if they think you are a drug seeker.  Find a new gastro dr.
How long have you been on remicade.  It does take awhile to work.  Good luck.
