Hello!
For the past 4 months, I have been dealing with excruciating upper abdominal pain and back pain whenever I eat, particularly if it’s something heavy. It usually lasts for about 12 hours at a time and it’s so bad that I’ve passed out from it and ended up in the ER several times.
I started seeing a GI doctor and have had an upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, HIDA scan, ultrasounds, CT scan of my pancreas, and tons of bloodwork done. Everything has come back negative except for some inflammation markers that are mildly high. My doctor had been suspecting Crohn’s of the small bowel since everything else has been ruled out at this point. One of the blood tests he had done was to look for IBD and it came back negative so now he doesn’t want to do any further testing and says I probably have bad heartburn. However, I’ve been on Prilosec and FDGuard and it hasn’t helped much. I’m so upset and feel like I am not being taken seriously by him. I’m not even sure if my symptoms make sense with those of Crohn’s.
I called the doctors office yesterday to request a small bowel series done since he did mention, before the bloodwork, that it could be helpful In looking for Crohn’s. Basically, I feel stuck and I don’t know where to look for help or what to look for in terms of a diagnosis.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or symptoms?
