I am a 22 year old female who has been diagnosed with Crohn's disease since I was 16 years old. I have had 2 surgeries because of this . . . I stopped all medications and for the past 3 YEARS I have had NO problems. 7 months ago I got married and now every month I get bad stomach cramps right before my period. I was hospitalized because of the cramps, nausea, and vomitting and the doctor said I had a "bowel obstruction" and he put me on a long list of meds, but while in the hospital I got my period and I felt better. After my discharge from the hospital I was still on meds and a "low residue" diet which I followed, but 2 months later I was hospitalized again for the same thing and again once I got my period (a day after being admitted) I felt better.
I went to the gynocologist last week and they ordered a ultrasound to check my ovaries for cysts, I don't have any that they could see, but the doctor called me yesterday and said that they got an abnormal pap smear result back and that I have excess cells on my uterus or something and now I have to go in next week for a colposcopy. I am very nervous about this, but I just got over my period again and this time I have had bad "burning" cramps in my lower right abdomen, (I have no appendixs) and when the cramps go through a knot forms and then as the cramp subsides the knot goes away. What could this be??? What is the matter with me????
Right now I have just returned to work and I have a nutritionist who has been coaching me on what's good to eat and such. I am on a gluten free and dairy free diet, until my gut heals. It felt like this diet was working, but since this past weeks pains, I'm getting very discouraged. Please help . . .
I know I've been all over the road map, so to speak in this question, sorry, I just really want to know what's going on so I can really start "living" again!!!
Thank you for all your help!!!!
