I've been on Humira for about 6 months and I have been messing with my injection times a lot over the past couple months. Humira is the only thing that keeps me going, but I have to do it weekly.
I noticed when I missed my dose, when I was doing it bimonthly, my symptoms would just keep getting worse.
We did a few psychological tests to see if my symptoms were coming back due to an emotional connection. That was quickly proven otherwise as I started to vomit and have bloody stool.
The Humira shouldn't make you sick right away like that. At least by what I have learned by it. Blood work, nurse talk, and scheduling an appointment if you're extremely concerned should definitely be at the top of your list :)
I'm sure with taking Humira your husband was appointed a nurse? I'm not sure where you're from, but if you're within Canada that should have been provided to you.
It has been a month since you posted this, so I hope he didn't fall back head first into the illness.
Hi there!
Delay of a single dose by 24 hours is unlikely to be the cause of the vomiting or aggravation of symptoms. His symptoms could also be related to other GI issues such as infections etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause suspected/ diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.
Take care!
