Some questions on Chrons

Hi,

I just have a few questions and would really appreciate some advice.

For years I have suffered from stomach cramps, bloating and an urgent need to for the toilet after eating. The stomach pain varies in levels. I also experience flatulence.

These past 4 weeks I have has continues diarrhoea as well as the most excruciating stomach cramps. Last night I felt nauseous along with these stomach pains and vomited. This morning I visited my Doctor, on doing an examination of my stomach  he has referred me for tests with a specialist as he thinks I may have Crohns. Do these symptoms sound like Crohns or severe IBS. In the interim I would really appreciate some advice on how to handle these symptoms if anyone has any. This is starting to affect my life and I am finding it hard to function.

May I also add to watch anything with seeds like raspberries, strawberries & cucumbers....etc......also nuts.....until you know what it is that you do have.....and then you can either get advice from a dietician or research on the Internet on what you can eat.......you could also try taking a probiotic daily before your big meal.....it does help me some.

I hope your visit with the doctor goes well.......and that you do not have crohn's disease ....please take care of yourself.

and you should also avoid high sugar foods  and carbonated drinks  and stuff maybe just drink water for a bit until things are under control  and avoid cafiene if you can  cause caffiene actually acts like a laxative so it probably would create more problems and if you eat alot of fruit try peeling the skins off of apples, and pears and anyhing with skin actually as it too is harder to digest and sticks to the walls in your intestines causing more problems especially if you are allready having problems yo want your stomach to relax as much as possible.  k     take care

well it sounds like it could be a number of things from crohns to colitis  to ibs , but the best way to know for sure is to see a specialist and get a colonoscopy done. That would defenitly give you some answers and to help with the continueous washroom breaks i would try changing your diet as that affects your bowels tremendously like try easy to digest foods  soluble fibre and if it's that severe even liquid diet for a few days would help i bet like there are meal replacement shakes that are lactose and gluten free as lactose is hard to digest it too affects your gut alot  anyway those shakes are at pharmacies and grocers there called ensure,or either boost or  there are no name brand ones which are just as good i am sure but give this a try and see if it helps   you will know in the first few days for sure.     good luck to you
