Thank you for your reply!
You put everything I was wondering into one place for me now :)
I am still waiting on the referral to the GI specialist and still having right side pain (the sharpness comes and goes but always a dull ache)
The pain that took me to the ER has not been back so I am keeping my fingers crossed :)
Thank you again... I will repost if I do find an answer to my current phenomenon
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Actually most GI issues will not show up on a CT scan. Appendicitis, especially chronic and ther bowel disorders causing chronic inflammation and thickening of bowel or bowel growths and cancer can be caught on CT scan. For conditions like IBS, Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, you need to get a video encapsule endoscopy or a sigmoidoscopy or a colonoscopy, as appropriate. Conditions like celiac can be ruled out by specific blood tests. Also food intolerance is a possibility that should be seriously considered. Please discuss with your doctor. Recurring pain on right side should be seriously investigated for appendicitis and colitis. An ultrasound (even if CT was negative) and a stool test should help clinch or refute the diagnosis. Take care!
