What's wrong with my stomach?

I have always had problems having regular bowel movements. 6 months ago I had large amounts of blood that passed from rectum on 4 different occassions within a 3 day span while I was walking. The next day I began having severe pains in my lower left abdomen between my pelvic bone and navel. I had a CT scan that said I have a thickening around my colon, along with blood work that had a positive Rheumatoid factor and specked ANA pattern that was 1.80(whatever that is). I have not had anymore rectal bleeding except with Bowel Movements in recent months but still have the need to go to the restroom and can't along with pain in my abdomen. I have now had two colonscopy's and am waiting for the results of a biopsy. (The dr did not see anything the first time because I was not cleaned out all the way and did not feel the need to tell me until I started having all the problems listed above, he simply ruled it as gastritis.) It has been a month since my biopsy and they are making me wait until my appointment to give me results; however, after the colonoscopy he said he feels like my colon is just discolored from overusage of laxative (which I do not use, except for what he prescribed). When I looked up what he said he felt it was, the symptoms were no symptoms. My regular physician wants me to go to another specialist but I'm tired and fed up and honestly tired of messing with it, but I hate for it to be something bad and not follow up. Does anyone have any insight to what all this might be? My regual physician feels it is Ulcertive Colitis or even Chrons. The more I read I am starting to agree.

Magnesium gets me running to the bathroom. I too have Crohn's and have been searching for a calcium supplement I could take & tolerate.

However, most of them sent me running to the restroom...as if I needed that !!

After discussing it with the doctor, he mentioned to check if the products had magnesium in them, if so avoid them as much as possible because it is a natural laxative.

I think utilaman has a good point, but you do need to see a doc.  All of us felt like giving up at one point or another...lets face it, this illness is OVERWHELMING and exhausting.

But it's YOU your fighting for.  Hang in there, you will make it through.

If you don't follow through, not only are you still miserable, but you may have other more serious issues that arise and you won't be aware of it till it may be too late. NOT worth the risk !   I found help at the University of Chicago, Crohns & Colitis foundation.

Finally, people who could figure out what the heck was happening !!  If you don't live in Illinois/Chicago area, there are other similar institutions handling the issues. Go online and find the closest one to you.  Best of luck !!

SEE A DOCTOR.

Sound like UC to  me, and I think you can do great things for your body pronto....go to walmart and buy magnesium tablets and take one tablet with each meal.   Next, get Niacin and b complex and take them too before you come down with some neurologic problem.    These GI problems can be resolved with persistent consumptiom of magnesium and niacin because I HAVE CURED MYSELF OF PROCTITIS WITH THEM.

I never took the medication prescribed to me by the GI doctor since it was just a corticosteroid suppository which meant that I'd be going back to his office monthly to get a prescription for the stuff.......Magnesium and foods containing magnesium like green leafy vegetable, decaf coffee. garlic, etc.. and Niacin and WALK, WALK, to get total body Inflammation down.
