BREAKING: Supreme Court Doubles Down On Citizens United

BREAKING: Supreme Court Doubles Down On Citizens United | The Supreme Court just announced a 5-4 decision striking down Montana’s ban on corporate money in elections. The decision was handed down without hearing oral argument on the case, meaning that the five conservative justices were not even open to hearing arguments that their election-buying decision in Citizens United might have been wrongly decided.

You seem to be the only Left'leaning person in this forum that has a clue what they're talking about, Mike.

Well said.

Until the finger pointing stops, no headway will be made.

My point exactly.  Eloquently put, sir.

Finger pointing is needless, but if one decides to point fingers, we must realize that it is coming from everywhere.

It doesn't matter which party gets what, in my opinion. The idea that corporations and individual donors are able to anonymously funnel unlimited funds into the political advertizing just corrupts the election process. Essentially it is no longer one person-one vote because these billionaires are able to influence thousands upon thousands of voters and not just in the Presidential election but in local, state and federal elections - and it's happening now.

That's all I was getting at.  Seems as if its real popular to get after the republicans because of Koch Bros, ALEC, and the likes.  The fact of the matter really is, we just aren't talking about the ones funding the dems.  We are not hearing that that is indeed a problem.  It's too easy to pick the guys with the big pockets and a bit of popularity.  In the mean time, everyone else flies under the radar and some of us refuse to acknowledge that this is happening.

According to the list/link provided above, Bain Capital gave more money to Dems......  I found that amusing and troubling at the same time.

Of course corporate money funds both parties Citizen's United as well as many of the other corporate interest first laws being passed, the legislators being put into office are being forced on us from ALEC.
As teko mentioned, you can all do searched on this and read for yourself.

And yes, Bain is the group Romney was connected too, the one that buys out smaller companies, and lets them fail for a profit.
Romney the " I love firing people" guy.

We don not have a democracy, we have a country run by ALEC, the Koch brothers and their bought and paid for goons~many of our politicians.
Can you say Fascism ?

So democrats receiving corporate money is not an issue?  It is or it isn't?  Everyone knows Koch & Co......  democrats are getting that corporate cabbage too.... that is the problem as far as I'm concerned.  Corporations buying everything.
