She can facilitate being impeached. In fact, she has but I don't think anyone will pull the trigger. Lots of big bible folks down there.
She's an elected official, has to resign or be impeached.
Do the job as described or hit the bricks.
Why do they always try to make the Muslim right and the Christian wrong, when they're both wrong? Just because the airline stewardess is not an elected official and serving alcohol is not a "central duty" doesn't mean there's no comparison. There are many other duties for a clerk of court, so issuing marriage licenses may not be a "central duty" for her, either...
Muslim Flight Attendant Says She's Suspended For Not Serving Alcohol
A Muslim flight attendant for ExpressJet is fighting to be reinstated after she says the airline suspended her for refusing to serve alcohol.
In a complaint filed last week with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Charee Stanley said the carrier had revoked a reasonable arrangement made to accommodate her religious beliefs.
Stanley's lawyer, Lena Masri of the Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan chapter, told The Huffington Post Monday that Stanley approached her superiors in June about how she could avoid serving alcohol to passengers because she recently discovered that Islamic law forbids it.
The airline told her to make a deal with fellow flight attendants so they could provide the beverages, Masri said. The arrangement seemed to be working smoothly until a coworker complained to the airline in early August that Stanley had been delinquent in her duties because she refused to serve the cocktails. The complaint also noted that Stanley "had a book with foreign writings and wore a headdress," CNN wrote.
In late August the airline notified Stanley, an employee of three years who became a Muslim about two years ago, that the accommodation had been revoked. ExpressJet placed her on unpaid leave for 12 months, Masri said. She was also threatened with termination, the lawyer added.
In an interview with HuffPost on Monday, the airline said it could not comment on personnel matters, but offered the following statement: "We embrace and respect the values of all of our team members. We are an equal opportunity employer with a long history of diversity in our workforce."
Masri told HuffPost that Stanley was open to mediation, but if no satisfactory solution is reached, she and her client would consider a lawsuit. In the meantime, Stanley was seeking other employment, the attorney said.
Responding to parallels drawn to the case of Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who cited her religious beliefs in refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, Masri said there was no comparison.
Stanley is not a public official, she said. She emphasized that Stanley's request to accommodate her faith was "not at the expense of anyone else." As instructed by her employer, she reached an accord with colleagues so passengers could still get their drinks.
"She got suspended for following the directions," Masri said to HuffPost, adding that "serving alcohol is not a central duty of being a flight attendant."
In summing up the conflict, the attorney told CNN that Stanley was fighting for basic rights: "What this case comes down to is no one should have to choose between their career and religion and it's incumbent upon employers to provide a safe environment where employees can feel they can practice their religion freely."

Hey guess what, I agree with Vance !
Kim Davis actually can let someone below her issue the licenses. If that is so objectionable to her then she needs to resign~ simple.
And yes, the Muslim woman took on a job that includes serving alcohol. She can change positions or quit.
Since she's not drinking I don't really see what her problem is but then again, I don't see the problem with issuing gay wedding licenses either.
A close friend who went through a rigorous Christian upbringing insists there is nothing in the bible that mentions homosexuality.
Kim Davis needs to follow the law, she may not like it but all of us follow laws we don't like. Either she follows the law or resigns/gets fired. I see people on social media saying she is standing up for what she believs in and if she was a liberal she would commended. I say whatever to those people. She has a job to do so do it. She wants to yell and scream from a soapbox while off duty so be it. But when at her job do what the job requires or find a new job.
The muslim should either perform her duties or move to flights that do not serve alcohol (but i bet there is a pay cut and she will complain about that) or she finds a new job.
It's that simple for both people.
That's how I feel about a lot of Christians. There are a lot of good ones out there and they outweigh the disillusioned hypocritical jack wagons.
"Both these women just recently found religion."
So have half the people in your nearest county jail !!! BFD
That's the problem with organized religion, if you don't believe their way then it's the wrong way.
Both of these women are giving religion a bad name. They are both entitled to their beliefs, but they are not entitled to force others to adhere to their beliefs and that's where we're running into so much trouble in this country... some people think that everyone else is required to believe as they do - that's not so and they need to get over it.
Both these women just recently found religion. This is the excuse for their actions.
My thought is quit being difficult and work it out, if you want to keep your job there are options, if not, hit the bricks.
Thin about this for a second. Kim Davis's ancestors probably left Europe because of religious persecution, but now she is trying to force her religion on other people?
It might not have been part of her job to issue licenses to gay people, but it is now. Issue them or step down. I don't think the woman knows anything about honor. Besides that, am I the only person in the country to sign on to a position with specific duties only to have more duties added on? I'm guessing no..... If you don't like the work situation, get out of it or do the damned job.
About "going down with the ship". Not part of the job description, but there is a potential of something like that happening. 12-16 hour shifts? Waaaaaa , Cry me a river. Don't like it, step down. No sitting around complaining.
The flight attendant signed on to a job that required her to sell alcohol. She took that job completely understanding the rules and the proof is that she did the job for a while before taking a stand.... She should be fired or moved to a position where selling alcohol is not part of the job description, like loading bags or working the counter.
When you take a job, you agree to perform the duties that go with go with that job, whether you like them or not... The airline stewardess knew that alcohol was served on most airlines. Granted, perhaps she could serve on an airline that doesn't serve alcohol, but shirking her duty on one that does serve alcohol, by having co-workers serve the alcohol should not be an option.
New duties are often added to a job description after one has taken the job, and if you don't like them, the recourse, is, typically, to quit the job... granting marriage licenses to same sex couples is a new duty that was added to Kim Davis' job description via the Supreme Court... She doesn't have the right not do her job or to prevent the employees that work under her and are willing to grant said marriage licenses, from doing their jobs even if she's unwilling to do hers. Her option is to step down from her job. In the long run, she serves no purpose for martyring herself by sitting in jail...
Kim Davis doesn't want any of the government employees working under her to issue same sex marriage licenses. She does have to personally issue the licenses. There are ways to accommodate the stewardess by having another persons serve the alcohol.
But by saying I'm not allowing anyone else to do it either is the issue with the elected official. She appointed herself as a judge which she is not.
Get over Kim Davis. She's not God either!
Well, you made the first point clear that Kim Davis is an elected official ~ she's serving time now, until either she will agree to the licensing; is impeached, or until the end of her term. Charee Stanley started working 3yrs. ago for the airline, then converted to Islam 2 yrs. ago. She claims, it wasn't until this year that she realized her faith doesn't allow her to drink alcohol, and serve it too...
So, back to your point, Davis selling marriage licenses to same sex couples was not part of her duties when she was elected into service. Stanley entered into a work agreement as an attendant who would be serving alcohol during flights. That's the difference.
Not all flights serve alcohol anymore; perhaps Stanley can be scheduled there. Muslim airlines don't serve alcohol; Stanley would probably be happier serving there...
What else do flight attendants do? They make sure you're comfortable during flights by serving you. Often they have to act as first responders during passenger emergencies. They work long shifts, sometimes 12 to 16 hours, usually living away from home. If the plane crashes, they go down with the ship...
No story, just a photo? Or am I missing something? Wouldn't be unusual... lol

And yeah, I know it's The Onion.
I expect Davis to be impeached, but I'd guess the Muslim lady will win, in some way, just like others have won...
