I think the woman has been demonized pretty badly too, but the liberals are taking advantage of what appears to be a lack of any polish. (Kind of Palinesque at the start of her national political career) And really, who in politics doesnt expose the obvious mistakes and or flaws in their opposition at the polls?
I like the idea that she doesnt seem to be a rubber stamp politican. I think America needs a few, but a few that wont just ride the party line.
I dont think America needs any "feel good" stories right now. During the last Presidential election, I heard a lot of democrats around here saying "its a great time to be alive right now with the potential election of our nations first black President". I agree with the historical value of that statement, totally. I think it says a lot of how we've come along as a nation and as a people. But I do think that the President got more than a few "feel good" votes. With all of the promises, what college kid wouldnt vote for the man?
We just need to do better with our candidates on both sides of the story. I'd say we need to get the B.S out of politics, but then there'd be no politics. I am not for sure where we can find people savy enough to both understand politics as usual and avoid it, and have a good business mind in order to help right the ship. Then again, we are talking about one candidate at a time....where do we find an entire Senate and Congress full of these people?
This woman is stupid. Sorry! But in my opinion this person has no business running for office. She could not pay her own bills, or taxes for that matter and is certainly no example for anyone. I would like to know who and how comes up with the ones that are going to run. Will she win? No, absolutely not, unless the republicans buy the seat. And on top of that seems to have no knowledge whatsoever of how things are run, not even the basics, except to read a script that was given her. You may say all they have to do is vote, which is not true, but if it were, we can save ourselves all that money to pay their wages and incorporate programmed robots in their position. No one has picked on the poor girl, she herself gave the fodder to be used and continues to do so. Geesh! What next!
I don't think the people who are going to vote for her care. What her voters will want is someone who won't rubber stamp every tax and spend bill that rolls through the Senate. In other words, they are most worried about her primary duty-voting. And she will vote with the more conservative member.
She's been demonized so badly that some of it is ridiculous. Voters see that as desperation. Considering the poll numbers at this point, I don't think she'll win. More is the pity.
I watched this debate and I actually felt kind of sorry for her. She did well on some points, but on most she seemed pretty lost. I think she may have been thrust into a situation she just isn't prepared for. Seems like a nice lady, and I think she really does believe what she says (which is more then you can say about most politicans..), but she did confuse this and so many other issues.
And another!
Illinois candidate unamused by misspellingYou can file this one under less-than-optimal typos:
From the Chicago Sun-Times:
The last name of Green Party gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney is misspelled as "Whitey" on electronic-voting machines in nearly two dozen wards -- about half in predominantly African-American areas -- and election officials said Wednesday the problem cannot be corrected by Election Day.
Whitney, the paper reports, is considering legal action to fix the mix-up before Election Day. He told the Sun-Times that the error may be the result of "machine politics."
"In any event, whether it is or not, this has to be disconcerting to a voter," he said.
Another one of those that make you go, hmmm?
