Obama blames political impasse for continuing economic woes

(CNN) -- Declaring himself frustrated with political fighting in Congress, President Barack Obama on Thursday blamed some of the nation's continuing economic troubles on government inaction and urged Americans to tell their elected representatives in Washington to pass bills that will create jobs.

"There is nothing wrong with our country. There is something wrong with our politics," Obama declared to applause.

"There is nothing wrong with our country. There is something wrong with our politics,"  Wonderful concept, and I think we all agree with it; however, I'd like to see his plan for changing it.

Each politician thinks s/he can do better than the others, but nobody's putting anything solid on the table, in terms of WHAT they plan to do and more importantly, HOW they plan to do it; that goes for every single one who's on, or trying to get on, the ballot, including Obama.  I'm a little slow sometimes, so I like to see something concrete (in writing), regarding policies,  what each candidate would to try to "change", and how they would go about accomplishing it........ it's time for everyone of them to put their money where their mouth is, or get out the way.

He never stops blaming someone tr something, he takes responsibility for nothing and it will be his downfall.

I gotta say though, he sure hit the nail on the head in my opinion.  That is what everyone is saying here...the downfall of your country is not the people or anything else with your country. It's still a great country.  But your politics...ay, that's whats killing it.  That stuff is making headlines everywhere right now.  It's such a shame.

I do think it was smart in pointing out that without some cooperation, his hands are tied and he needs the help of we the people to get thru to congress. Will it work, I dont think so. I dont really think anything beyond voting em out will help at this point.

I hate to say this, but THAT'S his ticket into the White House in 2012.

If he stands up and openly declares war on Congress and the rest of our broken political system & process, and makes promises to fix it, he'll be our next President.

Good tactic, I must say.

Hopefully, he'll make good and at least ATTEMPT an overhaul (assuming that's one of his main platform talking-points).

Empty promises got him into office in 2008... I'll cross my fingers that IF he makes it into office in 2012, that he at least TRIES to get rid of all the Pork in DC.
