Last 12 Months Hottest Ever In U.S. Temperature History

Not only was July the hottest month ever according to U.S. temperature records, but the last 12 months (August 2011-July 2012) were the warmest such unbroken period for the continental U.S., the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported Wednesday. The nationally averaged temperature was 56.1°F, or 3.3 degrees above average. Only the state of Washington didn’t see unusually high temperatures during the past year. NOAA published the following chart to illustrate the heat wave:

Maybe Mother Nature is responsible for this whole "global warming" thing that Al Gore keeps talking about.

I think we should all start blaming that b*tch instead of ourselves!!!

(Please excuse my foul language. It wasn't directed at anyone except for Mother Nature herself. Those that align with Mother Nature and her policies... I'm DEEPLY apologetic for referring to her as a b*tch. Henceforth, I'll call her a "female dog" instead. Apologies.)

Mother nature continues to scare me.  I feel like she may be putting the world in a time out.  Hey, we might need it . . .   but it IS painful!

Well I certainly hope its not coastal flooding Mike! I live on the coast and that would not be a good thing! The whole scenario is frightening tho isnt it.

It's strange... I was just talking to someone here in the office, about how MILD it's been this summer (down here in Houston).

Yes, it's been in the high 90's, but really, it's nothing like we saw last summer (2-3 months of running 100-105+ temps).

And you want to talk drought... we went 4 months SOLID with zero rainfall (last year).

Then again, it's sort of expected down here in TX, so not really shocked by the extremes in weather we see. 90deg's one day, snow the next (in the Panhandle anyway).

VERY odd weather we're having though, as far as the rest of the country is concerned.

Mother Nature's cycles are a wondrous and inexplicable thing.
