Broken Tooth and orange root

I broke a tooth off at the gum line and where the root should be there is a fluorescent orange coloured hard substance. I thought i had a root canal done on this tooth but should it be that colour. What is the reason for this colour.

I agree with Lynn, the root needs to be removed if it can't be saved and you should consider a bone graft to preserve the bone for possibly an implant in the future. Good luck

if your primary concern is color you have had a root canal. there is no pain? the orange should be the filler used after the root was removed. please go to a dentist even if its not painful since it is now open yo infection.
