Need help

I have a swollen area on my gums above a tooth that needs to be pulled.  The pain isn't hardly there as far as the tooth but when I push on my cheek, I feel the swelling like a bump and it is like it is at the top of my gums.  Any idea what this is?  Could it be an absess or an infection maybe? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you very much!
