No, I do not speak spanish.
Glad the laxative helped! Good luck on Friday!!!
Well, here's the update the laxative did help... A LOT!
The bubbles are gone, and what once was there is just tender tissue now. A lot of the gum swelling went down as well. This morning I don't feel as much pressure near the tooth extraction (which feels a lot like dry socket) so it did make a dramatic difference.
I'm still sore from the injections, and the extraction itself but I do recommend a mild/natural laxative because it has worked for me. My friend did say that if I'm not comfortable with herbal remedies, that MOM will also do the trick.
I'm still keeping friday's appointment because I have a wisdom tooth that I beleive may also be a contributing factor to my pain (it's slowly chipped away and is literally flush with the gumline, although not painful to the touch).
Do you speak spanish Helpinutah?
I believe in herbs and natural healing and so that makes sense. Good luck!!!!
My dentist left town for a funeral, and won't be able to take me till Friday Morning, so I'm doing the best I can with Motrin.
The irritated areas I spoke of in my previous post have now become small bumps, which makes me believe it is a reaction. I have an older friend who works with herbs and has told me that the bumps could be a stomach issue rather than an allergy. She explained that if the toxins are not being expelled from the body because of the lack of food/fluid it's normally accustomed to, therefore looking for an alternative exit... hence fever blisters, sores in the mouth etc.
I remember hearing this a lot as a kid from my Grandmother, I never put it together till today. Go figure!
I guess it does make sense since your eating/drinking habits do change after dental work. As funny as it sounds, she recommended a mild natural laxative (i hate that word lol) if the bumps/burning persist then I've lost nothing I guess. I also bought a gel that is made for Kanker and that seems to be helping with the burning too.
LOL We'll see if the laxative works :)
yeah, that's doesn't sound like a dry socket. I'm so sorry!!! Have you spoken with your dentist?
Thanks HelpinUtah,
I really don't think it's dry socket. The extraction site is healing nicely, although I'm beginning to suspect that there was nerve damage that I wasn't aware of or perhaps a mild reaction to the local as I'm feeling no pain in the extraction area... but in the neighboring teeth, and I feel a burning/tingly sensation in the areas where injection was given or the most numbness was felt (i.e. lip, chin, etc.)
You could possible have a dry socket. Call you dentist and ask them to check it out. If it is a dry socket they need to puncture the site and cause more blood to flow and clot in the area. That will relieve that pain. Give him a call so you don't have to keep suffering. Dry socket pain is horrible!!!
