Pressure in head when lying down, fatigue, pain in root canal, high blood pressure since root canal performed in Jan.

I had a root canal performed on my bottom molar in Jan. 2007 and since have had pressure on my head mostly when lying down, high blood pressure (never had before), and an overall feeling of fatigue - taking a few naps during the day which I never did before!  I've had 2 rounds of blood composite panels (normal), an MRI of my brain (normal), treated for sinistitus 1st a round of Amoxycillin (not much change), then avelox/allegra D & after 3 days of the avelox, my symptoms worsened and I woke up extremely dizzy so stopped the meds, now on a BP med (diuretic)seems to be helping with the pressure somewhat but symptoms still very bothersome - feel ill/tired.  I would like to know if the root canal (as Dr. Price/Meining suggest) could be leaking bacteria and causing my symptoms.  Now, there is pain where the root canal was done!  Could these be symptoms of an allergy to the material used to fill the root canal? My ears feel plugged at times too and there is tightness in my neck. I have even had a thorough eye exam and everything is normal there.  I'm at my wits end & just want to feel normal again . . . I feel like having that tooth yanked out!  

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have very similar symptoms - right after a left lower jaw horrible root canAl and enormous gold crown. Pressure,!popping in ear. Terrible migraines. This was many years ago but I had to leave school
After this and have never been able to work full time. I am always in some pain- sometimes horrible emanating from my jaw. I have begged dentists to remove the root canal. They all beg off.

Thanks for your input - at least its "food for thought", I don't believe it is coincidental that I'm having these symptoms after my root canal.  The pain is not continuous in the root canal tooth but comes and goes.  The heavy feeling in my head is continuous.  I called my endodontist back and asked what numbing agent was used (mepivacaine 1.8cc 3%, bupivacaine 1.8 cc 0.5%, reinjected a 2nd time because I wasn't feeling numb enough with lidacaine l:100)  Now my question becomes could these anesthetics be causing my problems.  The side effects are similar to what I've experienced.  Can they stay in my system if they were injected into bone, blood vessel, sinus cavities, something else???????

If you are having discomfort from the root canal this could increase your Bp. Pain can increase Bp.  However, In the 12 years of being a hygienist I have never heard of someone being allergic to gutta percha. I don't even think its possible because its hypo allegenic.  
I know that the dentist I work for sometimes has to prescribe steriods when root canals don't calm down on there own.  If the abcess affects the bone or if the infection was not completly removed there may be residual pressure under the apical of the tooth. With no place for the infection to go it can be very painful.  This may be the case for you. I am not sure how long or how bad your abcess was present before the root canal was performed.
I would get a second opinion from an endodontist. I the state that I live in it does require a referral.

dont know who drs price/meining are.  there are people who claim that the body can react to dental materials in this way. On the other hand it is also possible, if not likely that your other symptoms began coincidentally to your having a root canal completed. in my 20 yrs of dental experience I have never heard of a case where medical issues such as yours can rightfully be blamed on a root canal procedure. I'd have a second or even third opinion on the root canal as a cause for your toothache. not all root canal procedures work, for many reasons.

Firstly, the material that is used to seal root canals is called gutta percha which is very hypo-allergenic so I do not think this is the cause of your problems.I have never experienced an increase in bp from any root canal procedures except maybe intially from the injection or anticipation of the procedure itself.This increase would be transitory and not long lasting.I do not know if the rct was done by an endodontist but if not you might want to get another opinion on the status of the root canal tooth.
